We did a water safety afternoon for the year 6's at Hornby Primary.
It was very successful, they enjoyed capture the flag and the relays at the start. They also really enjoyed the pool activities. Their favourite pool activity was the golf ball where the kids had to dive in the water and get as many golf balls as possible.
We achieved our goals by making it a fun afternoon for the kids. Also we taught them how to be safe around pools and beaches. We worked together as a team to finish the action plans
We asked them some questions about water safety that the kids had to answer. We talked briefly about how to be safe in and around pools and beaches, which gave them some new knowledge about water safety. We also did activities that involved team work and by the end of the day they were working much better together.
I think it went quite well but next time find some more activities to do with water safety.
